Heal Italia Foundation
Health Extended Alliance for Innovative Therapies, Advanced Lab-research, and Integrated Approaches of Precision Medicine
The Heal Italia Foundation is the first national chain dedicated to research and innovation in the field of Precision Medicine. The initiative is part of one of the 14 expanded partnerships envisaged by the Pnrr as part of Mission 4 Component 2 “From research to business”, with the aim of investing in innovation hubs to strengthen research chains at national level and promote their participation in European and global strategic value chains.
Scientific Committee
The Committee supports the coordination of scientific activities and at its last meeting (4 July 2024) launched all activities relating to:
a) Analysis of the documentation produced (presentations, abstracts) on the occasion of the National Forum for Precision Medicine, organized by the HUB and held in Palermo on 13-15 June 2024;
b) Drafting of the HEAL ITALIA Research and Innovation Program 2024-2027. In collaboration with the Program and Research Manager, the development of the Research and Innovation Program is envisaged which has among its objectives that of consolidating and orienting current research activities towards the strategic directions of the European and National Programs with main reference to Horizon Europe Program and provide the Foundation with a Research & Innovation Plan 2024-2027.
Spoke
Heal Italia has been organized into 8 thematic biomedical research spokes that generate a workflow from data acquisition and model development, to precision diagnostics, innovative therapies and prevention strategies, to ultimately generate a clinical tool based on new devices and technologies. The spokes, strongly interconnected, direct their results towards different pathologies, such as cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and rare diseases, with the long-term vision of satisfying every person’s right to receive effective health services in a homogeneous, personalized and sustainable, respecting privacy and data protection, for the benefit of the entire community.
